To say Gavin was a technology geek would be an understatement. He loved it. Truth is playing on his Iphone, Ipad, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Wii or his computer was where he spent the majority of his free time. He would play online games with Conor and his friends for hours on weekends. I hope to write another entry about that at some point.
For Christmas 2021 Gavin received a IPhone 13. I’m sure if he were here he could rattle off all the specs and details.
Like many people, Gav used his Iphone for selfies, however, Gav selfies had a unique spin. He posed with the same stoic facial expression in dozens of pics. His phone is full of these selfies, from all over the place, many of them are marked as favorites. Regardless of the location he struck the same pose. I call the series Indomitable Man. His facial expression is just so interesting because it's such a contrast to Gav’s extremely easy-going nature. He peers ominously, many times from an elevated position. These photos start in January 2022 and run through August. He really hit his stride during our vacations in Las Vegas and Dubai in spring of 2022. Conor and I got into the act on occasion, but mostly it was all Gav, uniquely Gav.
I’m certain it was all some sort of joke to him and reflects his grasp of irony and humor. He was a hilarious kid and so very bright. His humor is one of a 1000 things we miss.
